RFP Program Manager/Bid Manager
**Location: Italy (Milan) preferred, can be flexible (Covering International Emerging Markets)
Fortinet is looking for a highly motivated individual to support our rapid growth by supporting RFP program in the Americas.
The RFP Program manager will be part of Global RFP Program team that influences strong working relationships with Enterprise sales teams and other functions, including but not limited to Sales Engineering, Product Marketing, Information Security, HR, Global Services, Legal and Finance.
This role manages an opportunity from qualification through to bid award, including value proposition, strategy guidance, solution development, partner collaboration and risk management control.
He/She is responsible for overseeing all phases of the RFP process for qualified opportunities, coordinating projects, acting as primary RFP liaison and project lead.
The c andidate must have exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills and be comfortable juggling multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines.
We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual to help work in an agile environment, interested to develop quickly into a role that has more responsibility.
**Summary of job responsibilities
- Serve as first level administrative contact for Field Sales and Channel Sales support related to RFX inquiries and customized contracts requiring input from multiple functions.
- Manage proposal plan from pre-assessment phase to deal closing, drive the completion of assigned proposal project
- Manage timelines and action items for RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses, including value proposition, strategy guidance, solution development, partner collaboration
- Collaborates with internal teams from sales, marketing, finance, legal, HR or product teams to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely
- Analyze escalation needs related to RFP, RFQ, and RFI responses and other requests as needed, and facilitate and obtain approvals from cross-functional teams
- Train the sales teams on our process and tools, to make them successful in bid/tender engagements
- Support and manage global customer due diligence assessment and questionnaire workflow in
deal process
- Ensure proposal compliance with internal company policies and practices, minimizes Fortinet's
risk exposure
- Ensure timely delivery of compliant, commercially sound and professionally-produced proposals
- regularly managing overlapping or conflicting deadlines
- Drive Bid/tender Win/Loss analysis
- Assist with maintaining the RFP database and various proposal templates
**Required Skills**:
- Previous work experience in supporting global organizations; as a member of a Sales operations, marketing operations or other sales supporting roles in a global company.
Ideally within the IT Industry - security and or networking sector
- Strong analytical and problem solving experience, combined with strong business judgment and an ability to present in a clear and compelling manner.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative in dealing with and resolving problems
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks
- Self-starter, demonstrated ability to work independently in a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to constant change
- Excellent communication and Inter-departmental skills, ability to direct stakeholders and hold peers accountable
- D etail-oriented, thorough, and responsive
**Nice to have skills**:
- BS/BA or equivalent experience, graduate degree preferred, plus 5+ years of experience in a related discipline
- Experience with proposal automation software (or similar)
- Experience in closing large deals
