**The Role
We are looking for an experienced destination manager to help grow our new operations in Rome.
The Rome City Manager will ensure that every customer receives outstanding customer service and that ExperienceFirst delivers a life enhancing travel experience for all who visit the city with us.
You will lead a local team of guides, responsible for quality control and ensuring a high standard of performance aligned with our brand values.
You will support the General Manager, Europe, to build relationships with local partners, generate new and innovative product ideas and collaborate with the product and people teams to enhance the portfolio of Rome as a local destination.
**Key Responsibilities
- Develop goals for and drive performance of the Rome team, including revenue, reviews, trip fill and overall product performance.
- Cultivate new product ideas and oversee the execution of new product development from research to launch.
- Manage all guides in the city, ensuring brand guidelines, company policy & training standards are delivered and constantly reviewed and improved.
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Europe, and the operations team to ensure scheduling, trip capacity and quality metrics are delivered and exceeded.
- Work with the People Experience team to successfully recruit, train and manage a high-quality of guide performance to match seasonal demands.
- Manage all local tour logistics and cultivate positive relationships with local partners to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
**Skills & Experience
- 3+ years experience in an operational role in the travel industry.
- Understanding of key operations metrics including capacity, trip fill, reviews, ticket savings & spoilage etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organisational and time management abilities.
- Highly motivated with the desire to be part of a growing team and scaling organisation.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Previous experience leading a team and demonstrating high performance outcomes.
- Bi-lingual in Italian and English.
- Rome-based.
- Knowledge of Rome's history, culture, and attractions (desired).
Hours: This role is full time, with some weekend and public holiday work anticipated
**Salary**: The salary for this role is expected around €35, 000, depending on experience
