**RUNNER**:
Job purpose
The Runner is responsible for supporting the dining service operations at the exclusive member club by assisting waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth service delivery. They play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of service and ensuring guest satisfaction.
**Main Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Assist waitstaff in setting up tables for service, including arranging table settings, linens, and tableware.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to the appropriate tables, following service standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate the timing of food orders and ensure prompt delivery to guests.
- Assist in clearing tables and resetting for the next service, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
- Provide support to waitstaff during busy periods, including running food orders, refilling beverages, and assisting with guest requests.
- Monitor the needs of guests, anticipating requests, and responding promptly to ensure a seamless dining experience.
- Communicate effectively with waitstaff, kitchen staff, and management to relay guest requests and ensure smooth service.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of dining supplies, including linens, tableware, and condiments, and notifying management of any shortages.
- Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times, representing the club in a positive and hospitable manner.
- Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.
**Key Competencies**:
**Required Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in a similar role in a hospitality or food service environment preferred but not always necessary.
**General Knowledge and Technical Skills**:
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures and standards.
- Familiarity with basic dining etiquette and service techniques.
- Ability to operate POS systems and handle basic transactions.
**Personal and Interpersonal Skills**:
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the club and its guests.
- Professional demeanor and appearance, with a friendly and approachable attitude.
