Sales Account
Job Purpose: To maintain and grow revenue with existing clients and with support, prospect for new business.
Provide sales support to the show team in selling exhibition space and working towards achieving sales targets.
Scope: This role will sell exhibition floor space, value-added services and Digital products to new and existing exhibitors based in Italy and internationally and demonstrate return on investment to clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Generate revenue through sales and develop new business opportunities.
- Contribute to show's strategy and the long-term plan of the sales area.
- Portfolio selling, selling m2, sponsorship, and content sponsorship.
- Telesales to existing and potential exhibitors to meet and exceed sales revenue targets.
- Floor plan management and allocation of stand space in conjunction with the Exhibition Manager.
- Keep abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales.
- Sell exhibition space to both previous and new exhibitors over the telephone and face to face.
- Attend RX events and competitor events (both domestically and internationally) thereby maintaining relationships, expanding the database and prospecting for new business.
- Where necessary carry out face-to-face presentations to existing and potential exhibitors to secure their involvement
- Ensure that all sales administration is completed to a high standard including letter writing, producing mailings and keep Sales CRM up to date.
- Resolve exhibitor issues both in the office and on site.
- Work on-site during the build-up, open period and breakdown of all the shows actively helping clients with their on-site requirements.
- Liaise with marketing, PR and operations to ensure they are kept up to date with exhibitor details.
- Understand the functions of other departments encouraging better working practice and maximising overall Company objectives.
- Build relationships with clients, understanding their businesses and marketing needs.
- Accurately report progress through weekly sales reports and forecast revenue projections.
A highly driven and enthusiastic sales professional who can demonstrate:
- Strong sales experience in a relevant environment.
Experience in exhibitions would be preferable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to develop face to face sales techniques.
- Strong team player and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to prioritise and multi task.
- Administrative skills
- High levels of professionalism with strong attention to detail
- Ability to demonstrate creativity and initiative in a sales environment
- Experience in consultative selling, maximising revenue from existing customers demonstrating innovation and creativity in ideas
- Personal drive, ambition and enthusiasm for sales with a proven ability to beat targets
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels
- Empathy and understanding of other cultures.
Progresses sales to generate revenue
- Competent at generating revenue through telesales and face to face selling
- Conducts face to face visits under management guidance
- Starts to consider how to develop the business and better demonstrate value to the client
- Starts to consider cross selling and begins to develop non-show revenue initiatives, including web and on-line activities, in partnership with customers
- With support, prospects for new business including visiting competitive events
- Effectively networks to grow potential client base
- Understands clients' business requirements and develops non-standard solutions, consistently demonstrating return on investment
- Achieves all sales targets
- Utilises database to maximize revenue opportunities
- Tracks activity levels
