Sales Engineer
The Sales Engineer will support the sales teams and the reseller channel by providing product advice and training, advice on licensing and technical queries and talking to / visiting end-users of larger organizations in order to facilitate product sales.
They are expected to be product experts with a strong knowledge in IT systems and the threat landscape.
Their role is more encompassing than simply technical support and although not a sales person they will have a bearing on the sales into larger enterprise customers. Role - Support the sales team in handling more technical enquiries from larger end-user customers - Discussing technical aspects of the products with end-users - Train resellers and ESET staff on products and their application - Be a central source of knowledge for the sales and marketing teams on all aspects of the product, its licensing and impact / integration in broader IT systems - Be an ESET evangelist both at end-user meetings and events - Keep up-to-date on industry knowledge and news on a technical basis - Assist and develop onsite or remote PoC's, Demos and customer engagement.
- Participate in sales strategy planning, customer design, technical evaluations and sales calls. Activities - Provide technical sales advice to the internal and external sales teams on specific enquiries - Undertake product training sessions for ESET staff - Undertake product and technical training sessions for resellers and their staff (time required away) - Undertake web demonstrations to key customers and resellers - Undertake onsite demonstrations to prospective customers and resellers (time required away) - Attend exhibitions and conferences to provide technical product advice (time required away) - Prepare and undertake monthly product webinars to the reseller channel and end-users - Manage KPI's and personal goalsEssential Skills - Previous experience providing technical support to both end-users and resellers - Experience with security software and their application within an IT environment - Able to present confidently to senior IT staff specializing in IT Security (CISO level) - Enterprise network knowledge - An understanding of encryption technologies - An understanding of server infrastructure and domain configuration - Understands (Intermediate admin) Operating system configuration (Windows, Mac, Linux).
- Understands Virtual Machine usage - Able to evaluate an enterprise's security posture and provide expert recommendations for implementing effective security solutions - Proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents, providing strategic guidance to ensure effective threat mitigation and comprehensive risk management.
- Able to travel and stay away as and when required - Full valid driver's licenseDesirable Skills - Previous experience delivering training - Previous experience in presenting IT products - Project management experience - In-depth knowledge of the security software industry and ESET competitors - Complete ESET product knowledgeEducation:Bachelors IT degree or an equivalently qualification with relevant professional experienceExperience:5+ years of experience in Presales activitiesCommunications:Excellent writing and communication skillsPolite and helpful personalityCustomer-oriented communicationLanguage:Italian native speaker or C1English B2 - Upper intermediate
