- Job Title: Area Sales Manager- Level: Level defined based on experience- Reports to: Managing Director- Location: Angelus Parma- GENERAL PURPOSE- To maintain and grow the new equipment and after-market sales of the Pneumatic Scale Angelus product line in the assigned territories by finding, developing, and securing new and after-market equipment orders.
Position is responsible for developing and implementing business strategies that will continue to expand the client base and foster customer loyalty within the territory.
Position requires significant travel. - PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop strong knowledge of the PSA product line capabilities and services to establish a compelling, customer specific, value-added solution, through an inquisitive and consultative selling process, to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations.
- Understand, define, and closely follow all aspects of the Complex Sales Environment comprising both the Selling Process and the Customer Buying Process by utilizing best in class selling practices.
- Continuously hunt to find new sales opportunities, in existing customers and new potential customers, identifying the correct associated contacts within the opportunity account to understand their needs and problems to develop a tailored solution, explaining the advantage and value of the solution in meeting their needs and solving their problems, as well as the other tangible value aspects of doing business with BWFS as a trusted long-term supplier.
- Secure new machinery orders for the specified divisional products in the assigned territory with a focus to achieve and exceed the monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Support and actively utilize Customer Resource Management system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM) to maintain accurate records of all contacts, activity reports, opportunities and competitive information for customers and prospects.
- Assists in the resolution of customer claims and ensures resolution of customer complaints following department policy.
- Maintain contact with current and potential customers by building strong relationships and supplying product information to increase the likelihood of future sales orders.
- Facilitate product demonstrations and provide assistance in identifying and qualifying opportunities.
- Effectively make recommendations concerning market trends, competitive products, and pricing.
- Keep abreast of competitive and customer activity along with customer needs and communicate information to the appropriate individuals within the company, so strategic decisions can be made to increase the company's competitive edge in the marketplace.
- Promote the availability of company services (such as spare parts, training and field service), as well as capabilities in other Barry-Wehmiller divisions, to customers to increase sales.
- Maintain records and reports regarding all phases of activities as required.
- Coordinate availability of engineering services to meet customer requirements.
- Conduct oneself at all times in a professional and safe manner.
- ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS- EDUCATION: University degree (preferred) in Marketing, Business or Engineering, or technical degree with significant proven industry experience. - EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of five years of business-to-business sales experience in the capital equipment or packaging related industry.
- Solid knowledge of, and experience with, various types of packaging machinery and systems used in the food, industrial, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skil
