Sales Manager
Job DetailsDescription Identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve individual, team and property revenue goals.
Targets accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
Skillfully identifies and responds to leads and maximizes conversion from all lead sources.
Navigates large, complex event opportunities with multi-dimensional property components with unique margin drivers.
Identifying the right business opportunities that support revenue optimization goals for a multi-dimensional property experience and balancing the demand of room inventory between convention sales and casino hospitality. Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
Partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to develop creative ideas and proposals for potential bookings.
Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
Understands the overall market – competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. , and knows how to sell against them.
Establishes and executes sales strategy based on key analytics such as pace reporting and sales funnels.
Manages room inventory and event space via Delphi FDC Management System.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and maintaining memberships with key sales organizations.
Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma required.
Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Sales or related field preferred.
Experience in B2C Sales that includes all or some components of the sales process and/or upselling or cross selling. Ideal candidate would have experience hospitality setting.
Proven track record of delivering on goals and obtaining positive reviews.
Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize a variety of computer programs to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Prior working experience with a property management system, sales software preferred. Experience with Delphi a plus!
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to create and confidently present materials that influence audience.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management.
Ability to manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays to support clients as needed.
Core work hours are generally weekdays between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.
Must be able to travel as need for client and site visits.
Could be up to 30% or more per year.
This position may be considered for remote work.
Alternate work arrangements or locations can be considered. Sales team expected on site for client visits and large events.
