Sales Segment Manager - Machine
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Sales Segment Manager Machine Automation Italy will be responsible for leading and direct sales in the assigned segment; targeting profitable sales, growth and market penetration towards OEMs & End Users, consistent with company plans, policies & objectives and with customer needs; work in close cooperation with Regional Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, Development Leaders, Product Marketing and Operations.
**PRINCIPLE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct and coordinate activities to promote the sale of Products and Solutions in the
assigned segment
- Develop direct personal contact with Target Accounts and routinely conducts Customer visits.
- Contribute to the development and execution of pricing strategies to increase penetration
and improve profit
- Coordinate commercial negotiations with customers
- Contribute to Strategic plans: propose and drive initiatives and plans in line with Global /
European and Italian Strategy
- Contribute to the preparation of sales and business forecasts
- Report the Business on a monthly basis (and when required) with detailed analysis of
performance vs Plan: Orders & Sales, Growth Programs, Target Accounts, Opportunity
tracking, Customer satisfaction
- Work closely and together with Customer Service team in responding to customer needs
- Drive for continuous improvement: develop and monitor relevant KPIs and engage
appropriate initiatives
- Provide feedback on emerging trends and opportunities to Marketing and Sales Manager
- Assist Finance department in managing receivables (DSO)
- Develop and manage the People in the Machine Automation Segment sales team, including training, coaching, organization planning and performance reviews
- Responsible for sponsoring a pro-active Business Unit style and increasing Employee
motivation.
- Ensure all members of the assigned team comply with Ethics, Trade Compliance, Quality
Assurance and Health & Safety policies; guarantee that Business meets Emerson Policies
and local Legislation.

- Promote a positive Company image
- Provide leadership to continuously improve a Customer-focused culture within the team
- Travel: 60%+
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Preferred Engineering or business degree with relevant sales or marketing experience
- Solid experience in sales environment for industrial products
- Ability and interest to develop and grow employees in a sales team
- Solid presentation and computer skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be proficient in Italian and English
languages
