Job Brief: The SAP MM Consultant should have hands-on experience on both development and support of the SAP MM application and would be working in close cooperation with the application owner and architect. The Consultant would play a key role in managing and maintaining a sound production environment. The Consultant will work in an international, distributed, and multi-functional team using an agile mindset and methodology. Responsibilities: As a support specialist: Proactively monitor the application performance and data processing. Analyze and report issues; fix within SLA and transport changes. Implement service improvements. As a development specialist: Participate in design discussions for new projects. Develop objects as per requirements and create necessary TDs and FDs. Support business for testing. Qualification & Experience: Graduate with 8 years of hands-on experience. Experience in incident/service management/error handling/problem management. Knowledge of various tools for CD creation and transport movement. Good problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to understand customer business processes and the IT landscape rapidly. Ability to frame the right set of questions for a single process track. Assist in creating solution proposals, rough effort estimates, assist in solution workshops, and prepare the solution roadmap as well as assist in the detailed documentation and implementation of the solution. Able to guide a team, prepare design documents, gather business requirements, estimate, and have knowledge of quality processes and guide the team in using various quality tools. Should have SAP experience in the core module of specialization and domain experience. Demonstrates knowledge of Materials Management processes and how these processes are treated and configured in SAP MM. Able to work with customer business teams and project teams effectively. Should be able to conduct requirement gathering workshops, map these into SAP MM processes, and identify gaps. Should know the processes adopted for custom developments, unit testing, functional testing, integration testing, go-live preparations, and going live. Should be able to design and configure processes in Materials Management, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Valuation, Material Requirement Planning, and Invoice verification processes. Should also know how MM processes integrate with QM, Finance, SD, and PP modules. Customer-facing skills; worked with European customers. Major activities: Organize workshops (dev team/business/process owner/key users). Coordinate and support DevOps team activities: Priorities/Efforts Impediments/Escalations Critical Issues Management/Service Continuity Regular status reporting. Roadmap management. Requirements management: Review/write requirements/specifications. Classify requirements. Manage project backlog (functional/non-functional requirements). Deployment planning/co-ordination. Manage required resources/means (SVN, accounts, etc. ). Offer management (specification, costs, and delivery due date). Product owner activities/support. Process documentation/support. Maintain and extend architecture. Development of: New functionalities according to customer needs. Robustness improvements (improve/stabilize existing functions). Software corrective maintenance (bug fixes). Write test procedures (unit tests and integration tests). Maintain and extend documentation. Reactive operational support: L2/L3 incident management (quickest possible issue resolution, workarounds). Root cause analysis. Request management (apply standard changes/configuration changes/administrative actions). Data management (perform mass data loadings/corrections). Proactive operational support: Monitoring (processes, interfaces). Event and alert management (manage events resulting from monitoring service). Perform daily administrative tasks including fielding user inquiries, user account administration, and identification and resolution of operational issues of applications. Maintain up-to-date technical documents (Operation Requirement Sheet, Schedule Requirement Sheet, Monitoring Requirement Sheet, etc. ). Prepare and maintain documentation describing configurations and procedures for performing installations. Maintain the first-time-right approach. Functional support (Q&A, Product Owner Support, analysis, data/report extraction). Perform validation tests (functional and data). Success Metrics: Success will be measured in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: Consistently ensure the on-time delivery and quality (first-time-right) of the projects.
