The Role We are looking for an Investment Analyst ( curricular internship - tirocinio curriculare ) with a scientific background. We are looking for someone who has studied or worked in disciplines such as: Life Sciences : Biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, or microbiology. Chemistry : Organic chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering. Physics and Energy Systems : Nuclear physics, renewable energy systems, thermodynamics, or quantum mechanics. Engineering : Biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or systems engineering. Medicine and Health Sciences : Pharmacy, clinical research, medical imaging, or bioinformatics. Environmental Sciences : Ecology, environmental engineering, or geosciences. Material Sciences : Nanotechnology, composites, or advanced manufacturing. This role is ideal for students eager to apply their technical expertise in a business-driven, fast-paced VC environment and willing to gain hands-on experience in venture capital and deepen their understanding of the startup ecosystem. Your scientific knowledge will help us assess technologies and identify high-potential startups. As an Investment Analyst you will: Deal Sourcing : Identify and evaluate emerging startups in the deep tech ecosystem through research, networking, and industry events. Market Research : Analyze trends in deep tech sectors (e. g. , biotech, energy, AI, robotics) and prepare reports to inform investment strategies. Due Diligence : Support the team in assessing startups, including analyzing pitch decks, business models, intellectual property (IP), and competitive landscapes. Interns join due diligence calls with startup founders, gaining firsthand exposure to negotiation and strategic discussions. Portfolio Support : Assist portfolio companies with research, operations, and business development tasks as needed. Investment Memos : Prepare concise and detailed memos for internal discussions on potential investment opportunities. We evaluate startups with a rigorous, science-backed process, including in-house technical assessments and partnerships with academic experts. Networking : Attend top industry events, webinars, and conferences to network and gather insights on new trends. About you Academic background : Undergraduate or graduate student in any STEM field (preference for chemistry). Technical Curiosity : Strong interest in deep tech and the science behind cutting-edge innovations. Analytical skills : Joy and track record in thinking mathematically about complex dynamic systems, ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable insights. Communication skills : Excellent written and verbal communication, able to express ideas and viewpoints in a compelling way. Team Player : Comfortable working in a collaborative, diverse environment where we are encouraged to challenge each other. Entrepreneurial spirit : Able to work independently, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. Languages : You are fluent in English.
