As a Scientist in Molecular Biology & Microbiology, you will execute scientific experiments under limited supervision contributing to the conception, design, and interpretation of scientific data in support of research projects.
In this role, you will… Responsible for the conception, design, implementation, and interpretation of scientific research experiments in the area of molecular microbiology in support of vaccine development. Participate in scientific collaborations and reporting of data in technical reports and scientific journals. Maintain required documentation for processes and equipment. Contribute to implementation of project specific research and publication plan. Take appropriate actions to resolve issues in area of responsibility affecting research strategy and progress. Participate in writing internal/external reports and scientific documents in support of internal projects. Why you? Basic Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: PhD in Microbiology / Molecular Biology / Genetics. Previous experience with biosafety level 2 pathogens, including genetic manipulation of pathogenic bacteria, and demonstrated expertise in molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and gene expression analysis. Good level of spoken, conversational and written English. Clear and effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse scientific disciplines. Growing ability to present scientific data and represent team at technical project team level. Preferred Qualifications & Skills: Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply: Hands-on experience with next-gen genomics methods and proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for genetic analysis. Hands-on experience with precision gene editing technologies for bacteria and yeast e. g.
CRISPR/Cas9, other. A track record of scientific publications and/or patents is highly desirable. Innovative thinking is a plus, be able to identify link between different components of a problem or situation related to own work. Ability to communicate issues proactively and effectively negotiate potential solutions. Understanding & implementation of processes specific to vaccine R&D with a focus on efficiency.
