Security Officer
Duties**:
- Functions as a primary advisor and authority for the following disciplines/programs: Operations, Personnel, Physical, Technical, Industrial, Information, Operational Security, Automation, and Foreign Disclosure.
- Conducts required security related inspections at all SETAF-AF Command-wide locations.
- Acts as the Chief, Special Security Office (SSO) providing management, administrative and technical control for the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), SETAF-AF.
- Serves as the tactical security advisor to the Assistant Chief of Staff, G2 SETAF-AF and subordinate elements.
- Maintains and implements applicable SCI directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to adequately discharge SSO duties and responsibilities.
- Performs analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work concerning the development and/or implementation of security policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods.

- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel maybe required 25% or less of the time.
- This position is considered essential to support Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. See Qualification section for more information.

Specialized Experience is defined as experience which includes administering an organization's security program to include overseeing Operational Security and/or Personnel Security, and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI Security), and/or Foreign Disclosure. **This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the Federal service (GG/GS-12).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
- Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
