Security Specialist
Duties**:
- Serves as security program specialist executing and enforcing compliance with operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of an integrated information security program.
- Executes and enforces compliance with the organization personnel security program.
- Serves as the organization's representative for Industrial Security issues.
- Administers the Physical Security Program for the organization.

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to SCI, other Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Special Access Programs to perform the duties of the position.
A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- PCS expenses ARE authorized and will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations
- Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
- This position has been designated as a Testing Designated Position.
Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission.
- The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.

- Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume
- Position is designated Emergency Essential.
During a crisis, incumbent must perform duties until relieved and perform readiness exercises.
Position cannot be vacated during an emergency.
Requires incumbent be removed from any military recall status.
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
**Qualifications**:
- In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
- This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS).
The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level.
The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
**SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE**:Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position.
- **Examples of creditable experience include**: Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology and practices.
Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs**): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
- 1.
Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices.
- 2.
Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
- 3.
Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
- 4.
Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.
- 5.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
- 6.
Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
**PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE**: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
**VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE**: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i. e. , Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e. g. , professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
