Senior Construction Project Manager, EMEA Data Center ConstructionJob ID: 2620264 | AWS EMEA SARL (Italy Branch) - G99The EMEA Construction team is looking for a Senior Pre-Construction Manager to serve as the primary liaison between Real Estate, Design Engineering and other critical partner teams during initial planning, conceptual design, schematics progress, and design development; providing cost, schedule, and constructability guidance.

Your work will help to drive standards in this essential part of our delivery process. Key job responsibilities• Drive practical constructability standards in design documentation. • Perform constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs associated with the construction of new data centers or optimization of existing data centers. • Act as the point of escalation for complex constructability issues. • Provide input into global standards and data center template designs. • Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy. A day in the life• Review civil, electrical and mechanical designs to create construction project scope for requests for proposal and variations. • Lead negotiations with general contractors and internal procurement partners and evaluate bids/proposals/claims with detail and accuracy. • Record and report key construction/commercial metrics, including internal schedule, cost and budget reporting and forecasting• Lead on analysis and resolution of claims and major variations• Provide leadership within the group as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center, work collaboratively to mentor, support and develop more junior team membersAbout the teamAmazon's Data Centers are industry leading examples of innovation in the areas of security, safety, space utilization, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

As a Pre-Construction Manager you will support the development and implementation of design standards across regional construction programs.
Our Pre-Construction Managers develop new concepts through exploration, design, testing and into deployment/mass production.
They create and release high quality, consistent documentation for processes, standards and procedures. This role will serve as the primary liaison between Real Estate, Design Engineering and other critical partner teams during initial planning, conceptual design, schematics progress, and design development; providing cost, schedule, and constructability guidance.

In order to help our team better understand your experience, please ensure that your resume includes detailed information on:*the industries you've supported and the project scale, in as much detail as you are comfortable providing*your specific role and responsibility within your project(s)*the scope of your responsibilitiesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years in construction site management. - 5+ years of experience in conducting negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy. - 5+ years of experience in mission critical facilities (design, pre-construction, scheduling, construction and commissioning), or equivalent. - Bachelor's degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, related field or equivalent trade certification. - Fluency in English and Italian languages- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and IOSH or equivalent. - Knowledge of best practice industry safety, quality standards and local safety regulations with experience performing the role of a client within those regulations. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Professional certification, such as CCM (certified construction manager), AC (associate constructor), or CPC (certified professional constructor)- Detailed knowledge of critical data center equipment (Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Switchgear, Transformers, Power Feeders, Chillers, Plumbing, Fire Detection/Suppression, Air Handling Units, Computer Room Air Handling/Conditioning Units, UPS, CRAH, CRAC). - Detailed knowledge of electric engineering principles- Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering principles- Detailed knowledge of civil engineering principlesAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
