We are seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Design Manager for Salewa, to lead and coordinate the design efforts across our high-performance mountaineering apparel, footwear, and equipment categories.

The Senior Design Manager will ensure a cohesive and harmonized design language that aligns with the brand's identity as a blend of tradition, innovation, and a deep connection to the alpine world, appealing to outdoor enthusiasts who value performance, quality, and a genuine passion for mountain sport.

Tasks & responsibilities Strategic Design Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy across all product categories, inspiring a multidisciplinary team to create innovative, market-leading products that embody Salewa's commitment to sustainability and alpine heritage.

Product Design Coordination: Manage the seasonal design calendar and oversee the design process from concept to final product.

Collaborate closely with Product Development, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure designs align with market demands and consumer expectations, while also being feasible and cost-effective.

Innovation and Trend Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behaviors to drive innovation in product design.

Lead research on current trends, new concepts, and color palettes to maintain Salewa's competitive edge.

Design to Cost: Implement and monitor design strategies that meet margin targets while upholding quality and innovation standards.

Fabric and Material Selection: Collaborate with the R&D team on fabric and material selection, exploring new technical solutions to enhance product performance and sustainability.

Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment to ensure the team meets both creative and project goals.

Profile Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or a related field Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in product design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the outdoor or sportswear industry Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously Workplace: Bolzano, IT If you are interested to work in a challenging, international and dynamic environment then apply now!
