Senior Investment Manager (Team Lead) - Global Renewable Energy IPP - Milan, ItalyPiper Maddox are working with a fully integrated IPP and investor of renewable energy assets across multiple continents to expand their Italian team and add a Head of Transactions. You would be overseeing the full lifecycle of energy investment transactions across Italy, and would be collaborating with their Country Manager to identify, structure, and execute high-value opportunities in greenfield projects. Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Investment Leadership:Drive the evaluation, structuring, and execution of renewable energy investment opportunities in Italy, with a focus on early and mid-stage greenfield projects. Collaborate with the Italian Country Head and other stakeholders to shape strategic priorities for growth in the region. Transaction Management:Manage end-to-end investment processes, from due diligence through to financial close, ensuring adherence to internal approval frameworks. Lead equity investment and underwriting activities, including task delegation, financial modeling reviews, and the preparation of internal investment proposals. Oversee the drafting and negotiation of transaction-related agreements in coordination with internal teams and external advisors. Debt Optimization and Project Financing:Secure project financing ahead of construction for new developments. Refinance existing operational assets to maximize equity returns and optimize the financial structure of the portfolio. Contract Negotiations:Lead negotiations for key contracts such as EPC, O&M, and PPA agreements, supported by central teams where required. Collaboration and Team Coordination:Work closely with internal functions, including Development, Legal, Finance, Tax, Technical, and Asset Management, to ensure seamless execution of transactions. Coordinate with external advisors, including legal, financial, and technical experts, to ensure the highest quality of execution. People Development:Mentor and guide junior team members (analysts and associates) in deal execution, financial analysis, and preparation of internal presentations. Promote a high-performance culture within the Italian Investment team through training and structured task management.
