Senior IT Architect (Data Platform) – Strategic Consulting Milan (Italy) We are looking for a Senior IT Architect (Data Platform) to join the technology advisory team of a leading strategic consulting firm based in Milan.

In this role, you will be a key technology leader, driving data platform transformation and enterprise IT modernization for global enterprises.

You will engage directly with C-level executives and senior stakeholders, leading the definition and execution of digital transformation strategies, cloud adoption roadmaps, and AI-driven enterprise architectures.

Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping scalable, high-performance data ecosystems, leveraging cloud, big data, and AI solutions to enable business growth and innovation.

Design and oversee the implementation of complex, high-performance data architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency.

Develop enterprise-wide digital transformation roadmaps, aligning IT architectures with long-term business strategies.

Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior executives, guiding them in navigating emerging technology trends, regulatory compliance, and data governance frameworks.

Drive the adoption of cloud-native solutions, defining multi-cloud strategies and hybrid infrastructure models for big data, analytics, and AI-driven applications.

Assess legacy IT systems and enterprise applications, identifying modernization opportunities to enhance agility and operational excellence.

Define reference architectures, IT governance models, and best practices for data management, cybersecurity, and microservices architectures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business strategists, ensuring seamless integration between business needs and technology solutions.

Mentor and coach junior IT architects, fostering knowledge sharing and capability building within the organization.

Required Skills & Experience Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in IT architecture, technology consulting, or enterprise digital transformation.

Proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale data platforms, cloud architectures, and AI-driven enterprise solutions.

Expertise in enterprise IT landscapes, including legacy modernization, cloud adoption, microservices, and API-driven architectures.

Deep understanding of data governance, regulatory compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001), and cybersecurity best practices.

Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure), DevOps practices, and CI/CD automation.

Experience in managing IT roadmaps, business-technology alignment, and stakeholder engagement at C-level.

Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with the ability to balance technical depth and business strategy.

Fluent in Italian and English, with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
