Senior Java Developer | Hybrid Italy | Freelancer Contract Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team on a freelance contract.

The ideal candidate should have extensive expertise in Java/J2EE, database management, front-end technologies, and enterprise frameworks.

This role requires a hybrid work model (2 days on-site, 3 days remote) and is open to EU candidates or non-EU candidates already based in Italy with a valid work permit.

Key Details Location: Italy (Hybrid 2 days on-site, 3 days remote) Contract Type: Freelancer (B2B only) Eligibility: EU candidates or non-EU candidates already based in Italy with a valid work permit Experience Level: Minimum 15+ years in IT (with a university degree) or 22+ years (without a degree, but with relevant certifications) Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications using Java/J2EE.

Work with databases (Oracle, MySQL) and optimize SQL queries.

Develop and enhance front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Implement and manage version control and build tools (GIT, Maven, SVN ).

Utilize Spring Framework, Hibernate/EclipseLink for backend development.

Work with Apache Solr + Lucene for search indexing and retrieval.

Maintain JSP-based applications and ensure performance optimization.

Required Skills & Technologies Java/J2EE SQL (Oracle, MySQL) HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript SVN, GIT Hibernate/EclipseLink Spring Framework Oracle RDBMS Maven Apache Solr + Lucene JSP Minimum Requirements With a university degree: At least 15 years of IT-related experience.

Without a university degree: At least 22 years of IT-related experience , preferably with supporting certifications.
