RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer to join its office in Rome or Rozzano within the Operations and Maintenance Engineering Division.

Mission As a Senior Mechanical Handling Engineer at RINA Consulting S. p. A. , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless integration of mechanical handling solutions into plant design and maintenance processes.

Your mission will be to collaborate closely with the project team to enhance operational efficiency while prioritizing safety and compliance with industry standards.

By optimizing reliability, availability, and maintainability, you will contribute to the overall success of plant projects and operations.

Key Accountabilities Supporting Plant Design and Layout: Collaborate in supporting plant design and layout, ensuring accessibility and maintainability requirements are met.

You will work closely with the Principal Engineer to integrate mechanical handling considerations into the design process.

Identifying Maintenance Scenarios: Assist in identifying maintenance scenarios and selecting suitable handling procedures.

By collaborating with the Principal Engineer, you will ensure effective completion of maintenance tasks.

Assessing Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability: Support the assessment of reliability, availability, and maintainability outputs.

Contribute to optimizing mean time to repair and enhancing reliability and availability through efficient mechanical handling procedures.

Developing Lifting and Staging Methods: Contribute to the development of innovative lifting and staging methods for maintenance tasks.

Ensure safety and efficiency in lifting and staging operations under the guidance of the Principal Engineer.

Gathering Documentation: Assist in gathering necessary documentation and ensuring its accessibility for decision-making processes.

Support the collection of technical documentation related to maintainability and mechanical handling.

Reviewing Equipment and Project Documentation: Participate in the review of equipment General Arrangement Drawings (GADs) and project specifications.

Collaborate with vendors to align with project requirements.

Space Identification and Sizing: Support the identification and sizing of space for mechanical handling activities.

Optimize laydown areas and reserve space for maintenance works.

Staging and Laydown Area Management: Identify and size staging and laydown areas for maintenance operations.

Ensure strategic location and equipment of staging areas.

Workshop Attendance and Follow-Up: Attend workshops to address mechanical handling requirements.

Follow up on open tags and resolve mechanical handling-related issues.

Documentation Preparation: Prepare documentation for stakeholder meetings and communicate effectively regarding mechanical handling strategies and recommendations.

Education Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Qualifications +5 years of experience in mechanical handling engineering within the engineering consulting will be considered a strong plus Proficiency in oil & gas plant related design documentation and drawings including 3D models, plot plans, P&IDs, among others Understanding of plant design, layout, and maintenance principles Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations Fluent in English and Italian languages With over 5, 800 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries worldwide, RINA is a multinational player which provides certification, marine classification, product testing, site supervision and vendor inspection, training and engineering consultancy services across a wide range of sectors.
