As Portfolio Manager within the team you will hold the main responsibility of pricing Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for renewables assets as well as for C&I customers initially in Italy, Spain and France.
You will also be responsible for hedging the portfolio of contracts by actively trading and optimizing the resulting portfolio of commodities. Over time, customers may require the pricing of other commodities, for which you will be responsible as well.
Using existing resources, tools and data, you will need to develop and implement pricing fundamentals for PPAs hedging contracts. To support your findings, you will use statistical analysis of key factors influencing the commercial result of our renewable and industrial customers portfolio.
The role can be based in Italy (Rome or Milan), Germany (Essen), England (London), France (Paris) or Denmark (Copenhagen) and reports into the Head Commodity Solutions & Origination South-Europe. About the roleLead the process of developing a Risk Management framework for the long-term risk capital backed portfolio, in cooperation with the RWEST and RWE AG risk management teams, and develop relevant metrics, reports and governance processes around the portfolio. Establish an operational set-up that allows Originators to identify risks and opportunities in the portfolio, and cooperate with the Originators in designing and structuring transactions to create the best portfolio fit of new contracts. Identify longer-term market trends and engage with the Originators in designing deals that allow the department to create value out of market opportunities within a clearly defined risk governance framework. Identify economically viable opportunities and facilitate deals together with group functions & stakeholders to create value and/or mitigate risks within RWE's portfolio of development projects, existing assets and contracts/market exposures. Execute deal orders as needed in order to mitigate portfolio risks. Contribute to book P&L and long-term revenue optimization. Participate as needed in the wider RWE strategic work, and ensure the views and objectives of RWEST and Customer Solutions are heard and understood. Contribute to efficient teamwork and a result-driven and positive culture within the team and the wider group. Job requirements and experienceDegree in a relevant discipline (e. g.
finance, econometrics). At least 10 years of experience within Risk Management and/or Trading of energy/electricity. A driven personality to establish relationships and internal networks. Ability to interact and influence strategic and risk management processes. Developed a financial evaluation and commercial awareness mindset. The ability to adapt/modify commercial strategy and tactics to mitigate risks in response to changes in the complex and dynamic regulatory environment. Ability to participate and contribute in interdisciplinary project teams. Strong numerical skills; knowledge of Python, Matlab or VBA is a plus. Excellent English skills are essential.
