Job Description With the aim to reinforce its off-shore North America Project Management team, Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Project Manager to manage projects in the NA Region. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The resource will be based at Italian HR STS offices, either in Naples or in Pistoia. The role requires availability for frequent business travel, both in Italy and in North America. Fluency in English is essential. The position reports to the Head of Program Management North America. Required Skills/Knowledge Proven 5 years of working experience in project management in a complex multinational organization Excellent team working attitude Ability to develop strong, constructive, and focused relationships with internal and external stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills High level of competence with Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel Project Management Professional (PMP or IPMA) certification is a plus Accountabilities The Project Manager is accountable for the delivery of the project, meeting contractual requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This includes accountability for project profit and loss. The Project Manager ensures that project risks are correctly identified and managed. With the support of the Risk Manager, the Project Manager manages the periodic update of project risks according to internal risk management procedures and proposes contingency strategies to top management. The Project Manager manages the evaluation and allocation of project risk contingencies as needed and agreed with Team Members. The utilization of contingencies is authorized by the Project Manager with the support of the Project Controller. The Project Manager is responsible for the relationship with the Customer, serving as the direct interface for all aspects related to project management. Any direct contact between Project Team Members and the Customer must be coordinated by the Project Manager. Key activities and accountabilities include: Approving the master schedule and the second-level schedule issued by the Project Planner Authorizing any changes to the project baseline that impact product costs, schedule, or contractual obligations Managing requests for variation from the customer, from offer preparation to negotiation Approving sub-contracts/Letter of Intent relevant to Key Sub-Supplies and RSBU Legal Entities to ensure alignment with project budget, schedule, and contractual requirements Managing Project Monthly and Quarterly Progress Reports and Meetings, including economic and financial progress reports from the Project Controller Approving and managing all communications related to the project towards the customer Managing and validating the invoicing plan Overseeing the delivery of products to the customer Leading the Project Team Education/Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field (Engineering).
