VOMM Impianti e Processi SpA, has been developing and promoting its own technologies and thermal treatment innovative processes for over 50 years, applied to the different sectors: chemical and pharmaceutical, food, environmental, providing turn-key plants from design to operation and maintenance.

In the perspective of strengthening our staff, we are looking for a:

Proposal engineer Purpose Grant the preparation of cost estimate through either internal estimation, market inquiries in coordination with other internal departments, as necessary.

Assures, through coordination with the team appointed by other departments (engineering, procurement, etc.

), that bid activities are implemented in compliance with bidding strategy set.

Reporting to engineering manager and supporting commercial manager, be responsible for the preparation of the technical proposal in accordance with the Invitation to bid requirements and the execution strategy defined with the management.

Support the technical and contractual negotiations with the Client together with commercial and legal department.

Responsibilities and duties Plan his work to meet the given schedule; when applicable, plan discipline engineering manhours in line with the progress schedule.

Control, review and monitor any deviation from the plan, as necessary.

Assure the timely implementation delivery of assigned technical proposal in strict compliance with established bids closing dates.

Participate with commercial manager in defining the winning and bid execution strategy, with the purpose to maximise the competitiveness of the cost estimate for the assigned proposal.

Identifying the activities needed from internal disciplines for the preparation of the technical proposal and the costs estimation.

Execute the estimation of the sections of the plant ensuring that the estimation is aligned with last BoQ, quotations, qualifications, assumptions, etc.

Ensure the completeness and the coherence of the price sheet, for which he is totally responsible for, and cooperates for the preparation of the price.

Submit for approval the proposal summary and the cost/revenue summary to the Commercial and Business Development before submission of the commercial proposal to the Client.

Inquiry the market to collect external supplier proposals in cooperation with the procurement department, based on documentation prepared by the engineering team and conducts the commercial evaluation of offers received from suppliers.

Attend to tender review meetings.

Maintain the contacts with the clients/consultants as the unique tecnical interface for the assigned proposals.

Ensure that the engineering documentation is produced in time and quality.

Collect all the documentation relevant to the proposal and records the decisions and assumptions implemented during its development.

Prepare the technical proposal, supported by the bid team, according to the tender requirements, granting the necessary quality and completeness.

Support the Project Control function in the preparation of the project cash flow.

Prepare, in case of contract award, the hand over and contract review documentation for Project Manager's taking over.

Support the engineering manager proposing improvements to standard procedures and working tools.

Ensure proper coordination with other engineering disciplines during the development of new methodologies and working tools.

Requirements: -         Degree in Engineering, preferably in chemical field

-         5 years of proven experience in proposal/cost estimator roles in industrial plants design and construction

-         Excellent knowledge of mechanical and process drawing

-         Excellent knowledge of the main software packages

-         Fluent in English.

The knowledge of a second language will be a preferential element in the choice

-         Time flexibility

-         Availability to travel in Italy and/or abroad.

Economic and contract terms will be proportional to the experience of the candidate
