This platform holds the potential to transform the gene therapy field by addressing several of the current shortcomings of viral vectors. About the RoleJoin our team at Borea Therapeutics as a (Senior) Scientist to develop and characterize bioconjugated AAV vectors for new gene therapy applications.

The role requires solid technical skills and the creativity to approach new scientific problems in a rapidly evolving field.

Your responsibilities will be to:Evaluate, select, and apply AAV downstream purification techniques and optimize procedures for scale upConduct experiments for process optimization and in support of tech transfer experimentsSupport other R&D activities when neededThe position is based in Trieste, Italy at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), which is a scientific center of excellence within the national and international academic scene.

(or equivalent experience) in virology, biochemistry or related fieldExpertise with affinity columns and ion-exchange columns for the purification of viral vectorsExperience with analytical methods to characterize viral vectors or biologics (e. g.

Mass Photometry, Mass Spectrometry, qPCR, Spectroscopy, analytic HPLC, SDS-PAGE)Proven ability to conduct experiments for process optimization and process characterizationAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAttention to details, positive "can-do" attitude, flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving situationHand-on experience with characterization of bioconjugated biologics (ADCs) is preferred.
