Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented Senior Software Engineer to help us in our mission by leading the development of our in-house Model-Based System (MBSE) Engineering tool suite, and the integration of the MBSE tools into the flight software to improve our engineering efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesIn your capacity as a Senior Software Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

Design and architecture of complex software toolsImplementation of command line tools for Model-Based System EngineeringBuilding integration tests for the MBSE toolsRelease management for the MBSE toolsDocumentation and user trainingDevelopment and test of flight software configuration and code generation toolsBuild-up of a tool to develop the MBSE and flight software toolingSchedule and backlog managementWhat we would love to see from youIn the role of Senior Software Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

Expert level knowledge with at least one general purpose programming languageVery good experience with PythonVery good understanding of patterns in software engineeringExperience with development and testing of user facing software applicationsExperience with agile software development philosophyExperience with backlog managementReadiness to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlinesA plus would beWork with infrastructure as code tools such as TerraformExperience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Google Cloud, or AzureExperience with data modeling, management and governanceExperience designing APIsDatabases working knowledgeKnowledge of other programming languages, especially JavaScript and/or C/C++Experience working in the space industry, or other industries using an MBSE approachWhy you should join us!
