A vision for Sustainability in the IT Industry, and beyond that to industry as a whole with IT providers as enablers of Sustainability strategies.

A vision for IDC's European Sustainable Strategies and Technologies practice, in terms of its growth, structure and collaborations with other research teams within IDC.

A strong understanding of the role of an industry analyst, either from direct experience or as a customer of research-based products and services.

Proven ability to manage a team across both permanently assigned staff and members of an extended virtual community of analysts.

A strong commercial mindset and a desire to drive business for IDC, engaging with our professional salesforce and consulting colleagues to create opportunities and establish value propositions.

A deep-seated understanding of the current and future sustainability business challenges and strategies, and the understanding of the technology dynamics associated with these challenges and strategies.

This knowledge will have been gained through the ongoing analysis of sustainability related industry developments, and supplemented by a growing network of contacts.

A relevant degree in information technology, economics or sustainability is desirable:

more importantly, evidence of an interest and/or knowledge in European sustainability issues is essential, with a working knowledge of current approaches to circular economy, cloud services delivery, standards, ewaste, decarbonization, etc.

Good presentation and written communication skills are essential, and fluency in written and oral English is required:

fluency in a second European language would be advantageous.
