Purpose of JobThe Senior Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, installing, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining servers, systems, storage, and subsystems. Working collaboratively within the Sysadmin team consisting of internal resources and service providers, this individual contributes to various projects initiated by different departments, ensuring optimal system performance and the timely completion of technical infrastructure projects and operational tasks. Main Responsibilities & RequirementsExtensive expertise in Windows-based operating environments, with a focus on configuration, design, and troubleshooting of Windows Server systemsApplication of industry best practices in building Windows environments and resolving complex system issues for both Linux and Windows systemsProficient in VMware virtualization in on-premises and cloud settings, hands-on experience with provisioning and managing virtual resources in hybrid cloud environmentsKnowledgeable in VDI and advanced skills in Citrix Workspace, along with system monitoring, backup management, and performance maintenanceCapability to apply operating system and security patches, PowerShell scripting and command line proficiencyExceptional troubleshooting skills and the capacity to visualize and implement necessary technology solutions and infrastructureAdherence to ITIL standard processes for routine tasks and issue resolution, serving as the primary contact for server infrastructure escalationsCollaborative coordination with IT infrastructure teams, responsible for documentation and updates as per Project Plan and DC Cloud technologyDirect collaboration with vendors for third-party server/software deployment and involvement in the design and revamping of Project PlansProfessional Experience & QualificationsSeveral years of extensive experience in Windows Server Systems Administration, specifically with Windows Server 2019 and 2022, including proficiency in Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and. Net environmentsSignificant experience in VMware virtualization Systems Administration, focusing on ESXi 7 and vCenter 7, including knowledge of vCenter HA, vDS, and vSANsComprehensive understanding of networking fundamentalsBroad knowledge in network design, virtualization, storage solutions, VMware, and firewall protocolsFamiliarity with Capacity and Performance ManagementExperience with project management methodologies and toolsStrong knowledge in security patch management and vulnerability assessmentExposure to Azure IaaS and PaaS cloud infrastructure technologies is advantageousStrong communication skills, profeciency in EnglishProfessional Certifications:Windows Certification (e. g. , MCSE) is a plusVMware Certification (e. g. , VCP) is highly regardedAbility to work autonomously, and commitment to providing off-hours support as needed in a team-oriented environmentHave we sparked your interest?
