Site Procurement Leader (Sr. Manager) Catania, Italy
This role reports to the Global Category Strategy Leader - MFA/API/Nutrition and leads procurement activities (Direct and Indirect) for the EU Medicated Feed Additives manufacturing sites (Catania & Medolla), to ensure uninterrupted supply of quality materials and services in the most cost-effective manner.
In addition to the site procurement responsibilities this role takes a lead in developing & executing strategic plans for Raw Material and packaging material sub categories.
Acts as part of the Site Leadership Team(SLT) and drives site initiatives to reduce costs of purchased goods and services.
The role will have a strong relationship with the site Leadership team.
Ensures that all Procurement activities are carried out in an ethical manner and in compliance with all Zoetis policies and procedures.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply
- Ensure reliable and timely supply of raw and packaging materials for the sites
- Ensure that suppliers provide products and services to the timing and quality standards required
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure that acute and chronic supplier performance issues are addressed to avoid disruption to manufacturing or supply
- Proactively and systematically identify risk involved in supply chains(quality, EHS, cost and delivery risks) and develop/implement mitigation plans
- Support resolution of major quality issues arising with a supplier on the delivery of their goods, or related to unacceptable findings resulting from a quality audit
- Ensure that new suppliers are qualified in compliance with internal Change Control procedures and
Cost improvement
- Own and be accountable for site budget for direct materials, defining and providing standard costs and monitoring and forecasting Purchase Price Variance through the financial year
- Generate and update a cost reduction plan and budget for the site by working closely with Suppliers and Site Management
- Ensure the execution of planned and opportunistic cost reduction initiatives to deliver and exceed budget
- Work closely with suppliers to provide input into category strategies and roll out supply agreements (contracts) which have a beneficial impact on site costs (Raw Materials and Indirect)
- Define and execute sustainable and continuous cost reduction (CIP) and dual sourcing projects for the site, working closely with the site
Compliance & Supplier Relationship Management:
- Interpret, oversee and assure the implementation of corporate global policies, site and business specific guidelines and manufacturing SOPs within the site Procurement function
- Observe and ensure compliance to GSS policies and procedures
- Insure purchasing activities comply with site and government policies.
Develop and sustain compliance standards that impact GMP.
- Establish and lead supplier relationship management program
- Assure the appropriate level of interactions and communications with key site stakeholders (Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering/Technology, Finance, etc.
)
Establish appropriate tools (scorecards, etc) for communication, monitoring progress of implementation and ongoing compliance
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Directly reports to the Platform Procurement Leader with dotted line reporting to site leader.
Part of the site leadership team
Strong working relationship with the Platform lead, Site Management teams at Catania and Medolla, such as Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, EHS and all functions that affect operations
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Role is based in Catania (strongly preferred location).
Travel percentage 25% to suppliers and to Catania & Medolla
