Role purpose**:

The mission for Vodafone Network Operations (VNO) is to benefit customers by ensuring continued high quality of network connectivity and services in all our markets, delivering world class operational support of our networks whilst further driving simplicity and efficiency for Vodafone, operating the Vodafone European Network as a single unit, and implementing for this purpose a clear and simple operating model.

VNO organization provides a large set of services across our European networks and customers.

This role is instrumental in securing the implementation of the new operating model in VNO by centralising the definition of operational/non-functional requirements for future network systems and architectures in one single virtual team of technical experts for all Core networks and platforms.

A centralised Ops Architect function will be part of the Steering, Transformation & Excellence (ST&E) organization within Voice & Data Core (V&DC) vertical, allowing consistency of implementation processes and assuring all operational/non-functional requirements are defined and considered already at RfQ start, to ensure all relevant Ops requirements are addressed to the vendors from day one and tracked against the technical specifications (as part of the RfQ) until implementation starts.

This role will be responsible for supporting the network simplification considering the development of operationally relevant architecture standards for the operation of the relevant core network technologies, and review the existing architecture in collaboration with the 2nd level experts to ensure an appropriate level of redundancy/lightness of the solution.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Build and lead performing, motivated virtual SPoC team: Build a virtual team with multi

- country footprint and activities, motivate and develop people to ensure target fulfillment

- Responsible for implementing best in class harmonized network operations fully aligned in all markets leveraging on common processes and tools

- Optimisation of internal and cross-organisational processes with planning, engineering, deployment and operations departments

- Engagement in the introduction of new technologies and tools

- Development of business cases and preparation of decision papers and leadership of steering committees

- Further development of functional and non-functional system requirements

- Operational support as Subject Matter Expert within the scope of Incident and Problem Management

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- Mobile/Fixed/Cable Telecommunication background with functional experience (5+ years)

- Strong understanding of KPIs and quality measurements applied to Network Services/Domains

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Experience of ITIL frameworks

- Applied experience managing or leading a multinational/multi-location team and matrix organisations

- Ability to communicate complex technical requirements comprehensively at an executive management level.

- Strong experience in leading complex transformations and ability to adapt quickly in a fast changing environment

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:

- High-level degree in telecommunications, with strong technical and operational skills.

- 3+ as a project/program manager

- 5+ relevant experience in Network Operations and/or Engineering

- Deep knowledge and understanding of mobile and fixed technologies

- Desirable multi-cultural/multinational experience

- Desirable knowledge of ITIL.

- Project management experience

- Moderation and presentation skills

- Independent development of methods and procedures
