Who you'll work with Cisco Networking Engineering (CNE), formerly known as Distributed Systems Engineering (DSE), is a multi-billion-dollar business that generates revenue primarily from the Web, Service Provider Edge, Core, and Optical markets. The organization handles the development of high-end optical products like NCS1010, NCS1014, NCS1004, NCS4000, and NCS2000 series. What you'll do Work on developing the software application to manage complex optical system and automation stack Deliver high-level quality software tools Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team to solve problems Participate in the SW/HW integration Minimum qualifications Computer science engineering or equivalent degree at either BSc, MSc or PhD level 2 years of experience in major full-stack programming languages, including at least one of the following: C/C++, Java, or JavaScript Knowledge in the use of configuration controls tools and software repository mechanisms such as Github, Bitbucket Preferred qualifications Programming experience in Linux environment Experience with Angular Ability to work in globally distributed team with fast prototyping and development Experience within optics/optical networking Understanding of computer networks and network protocols (TCP/IP etc) Automation experience with Python Why Cisco WeAreCisco, where each person is unique, but we bring our talents to work as a team and make a difference powering an inclusive future for all.
