What does a great Java Software Development Engineer I do

This position resides in the hospitality group within Travelport, responsible for content acquisition, enrichment and distribution for our car and Albergo solutions.

We are now looking for a Sofware Development Engineer to join our team in developing the generation of travel technology.

This individual will join a dynamic group who is looking for someone who loves to code, will bring new ideas and help drive us in our migration to the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Experience and Capabilities:

Broad knowledge of core Computer Science concepts 1- years of java software development experience (strongly preferred Web Service Development, including Microservices, RESTful web services, XML JSON) Basic knowledge of Relational (MySQL, Amazon Aurora, DB2) and|or NoSQL (Couchbase, MongoDB, Cosmo DB, Redis) Databases.

Knowledge of OpenSource, Cloud, DevOps and CI|CD concepts Basic Knowledge of UNIX|LINUX server operating systems.

Essentials on Scrum|Agile development methodologies Able to quickly acquire necessary working knowledge on-the-job Capable of developing knowledge of a single component of our architecture Assumes ownership and accountability for assigned work Focus on growing as an engineer, learning existing tools, resources and processes Able to be adaptable and flexible as business needs change Can be productive when working under guidance from others.

Strong written and verbal communication skills (English) Effective in communicating status to the team As we evolve and grow as a business, so will you.
