Software Development Manager - Amazon Customer ReviewsThe Customer Reviews team shapes products and technology used daily by millions of people around the world. The team is responsible for many central Amazon experiences including Customer Reviews and Questions and Answers.

We are looking for an engineering manager who has experience in leading the development of state of the art software systems. We offer the opportunity to work with frontier technologies, such as ML/AI, on innovative and sophisticated features that customers love. You will be part of a team of passionate and experienced Amazon engineers in the multi-cultural environment of the Amazon Development Center in Barcelona and Berlin.

Key job responsibilities: Contributing and reviewing the product roadmap. Defining the team's charter and driving the software development process. Setting individual goals for developers and managing their performance. Working on career development and keeping team members engaged with exciting development tasks. Delivering production-ready code that will be used by hundreds of millions of Amazon customers. Owning the end-to-end customer experience of Customer Reviews, collaborating with UX designers and the product team. Basic Qualifications: Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations. Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services. Experience managing engineers. Experience partnering with product and program management teams. Experience in engineering. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy. Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness. Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
