Software Engineer
Software Engineer We have an opportunity for a Software Engineer to join us at Honeywell in Roma. You will be focused on installing and maintaining Building Management Systems (BMS), based on our Software EBI.
On a daily basis, you will be driving forward actions, providing recommendations on how to enhance building performance, comfort improvements, occupant experience, and providing customers with the transparency to make more informed decisions. You will also be part of a team focused on driving new business expansion, particularly in 3rd party service, creating new growth opportunities for our business. The customers are in Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Data centers, and other automation sectors.
This is a field role; up to 90% of the time will be spent traveling to customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for customers in the following areas: Central and Southern Italy (Sicilia and Sardegna included). Transform the way buildings operate to be safer, more productive, and more energy conscious. Key requirements Act as a primary technical resource & customer support for various project and service contract sites. Service and maintenance of Honeywell and third-party equipment such as building integration equipment, CCTV, and access control systems. Provide technical & product support to internal & external customers. Provide technical support data for the Contracts, Sales, Project, and Service teams, and help negotiate technical issues at the customer level. Deliver proactive and measurable outcomes for our customers with a focus on occupant comfort, energy consumption, and building-asset performance utilizing Connected Service technologies and EBI. Install and manage virtual servers. Activate and manage a simple network. Create views, functions, and stored procedures. Manage large-scale MySQL databases, writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications, and creating database triggers for use in automation. Deliver a remote end-user and systems support experience. Handle batch production job failures to meet the SLA on time. Use data & analytics to compare the performance of the system against the intended functionality. Prepare engineering drawings and application projects specifically for service jobs. Install EBI, prepare graphics, and necessary programming works as per specifications (Smart figure). Key skills and qualifications Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 3 years' Service/Technical Support experience in Controls/Process Automation or related field. Basic knowledge of electrical diagrams and electrical switching. Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management systems and procedures. Knowledge of Automation/Control systems within buildings (HVAC/Fire/Security), Cyber Security, and IoT (Internet of Things) Technology. Background in PLC and/or HMI-based programming preferred.
