Please note that all Solar Technician jobs are safety sensitive positions Position Description Origis Services, LLC is a rapidly expanding Operations and Maintenance provider in the United States.
Our solar asset portfolio continues to increase at a near exponential rate, with a mixture of Owner developed and constructed sites and third-party sites contracted, or already under management.
Our goal is to provide a more inclusive service capability, driving out the large expenses that are normally passed through to the owner.
The Plant Manager supervises and runs an organization of solar technicians responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and installing equipment in accordance with established standards and procedures, as well as managing the vegetation mitigation efforts totaling a team of about 10-15 people.
Key Responsibilities This position will consist of both field and administrative duties including the supervision of field technicians and collaboration with external contractors. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar utility power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism. Oversees several personnel, maximizing operational efficiency, solar production, and battery (BESS) performance. Responsible for Equipment Maintenance and Tool Control Programs. Manages the Site Safety and Accident Prevention Programs. Runs the Site Training Program. Troubleshoots system problems and resolves issues in a timely manner. Provide expert-level knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
Tests installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections. Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to: work orders, service orders, time logs, and personnel schedules. Maintains inventory control of Site assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels and accurate accounting of spares inventory. Train, mentor, and develop Solar Technicians. Ensure continuing education to meet safety and plant requirements. Maintain the Plant's vegetation requirements; includes mowing and spraying routinely. Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on-call" service availability via telephone/text message. Qualifications Valid Driver's License REQUIRED. 4+ years working in solar utility power plants with 2 years at a supervisor level. Experience with solar utility power plant operations, maintenance, high voltage switching, and all aspects of corrective maintenance/repairs. Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Understands SCADA and plant performance data. Experience with equipment maintenance; such as mower, multi-hogs, tractors, etc. Switchman/substation experience. Management and Leadership Experience with multiple levels of employees including contractors. Project Management Expertise – must be capable of running multiple simultaneous projects of varying scopes. Planning expertise – expected to maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules. Willing and able to work overtime, holidays, and weekends and to work on short notice as needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to perform basic electrical calculations, read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Ability to manage priorities and workflow, working independently with minimal supervision. Ability to perform necessary physical activity, including lifting up to 80 lbs. Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Location: Columbus, MS
Travel: Up to 20% travel as needed.
