Solution Architect
Job Title: 29954 -RFR-DTS-008– Solution Architect Office Location: Onsite & Remote #Business Days: Up to 24 Month Duration: The duration of the engagement may be for up to a 24-month term.
Due to the nature of projects, there may be exceptional circumstances where the total term may be extended beyond 24 months.
The 24-month term is anticipated to start with a 6-month initial term followed by an 18-month renewal.
SERVICES AND DELIVERABLES All Services will be performed on-site with primary location at 215 Garry Street, Winnipeg, in the province of Manitoba, regardless of the location of residence of the Proponent's resource.
The service location of the resource may change as a part of STATEMENT OF WORK between Proponent and Manitoba.
Manitoba at its sole discretion may provide an option to work remotely.
The remote working rate is the rate at which the proponent's resource will work primarily remotely and called onsite if needed at Manitoba's sole discretion.
The onsite rate is the rate at which proponent's resource will work primarily onsite as per the location defined in STATEMENT OF WORK and may work remotely if needed with prior written permission from Manitoba at its sole discretion.
The Proponent shall provide discounted remote working rate along with onsite rate for their resources in the submission.
Standard working hours for the resource will be in accordance with Manitoba usual working hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm CST (7. 25 hours per day), Monday to Friday.
Manitoba offices are closed on all Manitoba statutory holidays, and these days will be unpaid.
Manitoba at its sole discretion may decide that at certain times extended working hours are needed to meet project deadlines.
But extended working hours are to cover exceptional circumstances and may not be available during the entire duration of the engagement with the proponent's resource.
Overtime work cannot be used and billed unless approved by Manitoba with an advanced written approval.
Role Description The Architect will have experience providing technical leadership to ensure technical integrity and consistency throughout a solution's life-cycle stages.
Responsibilities: Work with system integrator team and Development Team to architect and design the technology solution; Provide knowledge of Manitoba existing architectures and decisions as input for future design decisions and architectures; Work with system integrator team, Team Leads, Technical Architect, and Developers to architect and validate the design of the technology solution which will enable business objectives and outcomes; Review and validate the technical requirements to transition a design into a working solution; Participate in the Explore and Realize phases of the project and participate in all remaining phases to verify that the technical design is installed, configured, documented, and working correctly; Other architect duties as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS A clean criminal record check status will be required at the proponent's expense prior to the successful Service Provider Resource(s) arriving onsite or working remotely.
Maintaining a clean status is required throughout the Proponents contract.
An enhanced background check, completed by Manitoba may be required on certain projects due to the confidentiality of the materials shared to the Proponent.
If the proponent fails, they must rectify on their own cost and time.
The following are minimum qualifications and/or experience for the delivery of the Services: Minimum of eight (8) years of experience working in technical Information Technology roles within complex enterprise environments; Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing solution architectures on projects across n-tiered platforms; Expert knowledge of Information Architecture principles and techniques, data management, data integration and data quality platforms and tools; Expert knowledge in at least one enterprise ETL tool; Minimum of three (3) years of experience working architecting solutions involving complex integration scenarios (multi-platform, competing technologies, SaaS and PaaS, Software as a Service); Knowledge of process re-engineering principles, requirements gathering, and middleware management; Knowledge of Azure Architecture (NSG, Firewall, Monitoring, Subscriptions, Key Vault, Security Controls, Authentication); Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture approaches and frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman); Knowledge of program level security services such as pen testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat risk assessments; Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple non-technical terms for various audiences; Ability to adapt to change in dynamically evolving situations; Ability to work in a team environment; Excellent customer service skills and communication skills; Excellent problem solving skills; Excellent documentation and presentation development skills.
It is preferred that the Resources have the following qualifications or experience: Knowledge of approaches to Azure Operationalization and Security Program Integration; Experience with large transformational projects that include phased deployment approaches, parallel application operation, and application decommissioning; Integration patterns including platforms such as Snaplogic or Azure Integration Services; Knowledge of SMS and SMTP services such as Twilio and SendGrid; Knowledge of Enterprise Business Intelligence including platforms such as Power BI.
Experience working in Public Sector.
