A Day in the Life of a Solution Architect – EMEA Commercial at Boston Scientific

In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders, other architects (in the region and globally), product owners, and project managers daily. Your role is to collaborate and design solutions to solve business challenges that support the Business Strategies. We are looking for a business analyst who would like to continue their career in the field of IT Architecture.

You will work with the business to understand its strategies and requirements to investigate existing or potential new solutions that can be implemented to support the business. You will enable vendor and solution selection processes by assessing the solutions, providing a high-level view of cost estimates, and making a recommendation.

You will enable the creation of a roadmap for the capabilities together with the business and for the solution while working with different stakeholders and understanding their needs, priorities, and cross-team dependencies. You will identify synergy opportunities and potential collaborations. You will influence peers and stakeholders to share a vision and be able to explain how the goals can be achieved.

You will contribute to the Enterprise Architecture practice by following the governance process and improving the maturity of capabilities, increasing the adoption of standards, or driving innovations and solutions for IT and Business. The business architecture team will guide and coach your work, leveraging the Business Capabilities framework to ensure priorities are aligned, and the business's maturity goals can be achieved.

In this role, you will report directly to the EMEA IT Director in EMEA.

Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned: Understand the business needs and challenges and determine ways to resolve them effectivelyGuide technology investment decisions based on analysis and evaluation to drive targeted business outcomes while ensuring nonfunctional requirements are metAbility to apply multiple technical solutions to enable future-state business capabilities that, in turn, drive targeted business outcomesIdentify innovative uses of Information Systems to provide a competitive advantage for Boston Scientific. Architecturally support regional or divisional projects and initiativesImplement recommended architecture changes throughout the area of responsibilityRequired Knowledge and Experience: Strong collaborator, pragmatic, eager to learn. Practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within the job area. A bachelor's degree with experience in IT, preferably 1+ years in the Solution Architecture area. 5+ years in system design and developmentProficiency in process modeling, architectural deliverables, and architecture solutions (e. g. , LeanIx)Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersAbility to document communication work clearly and conciselyAbility to travel up to 15% of the timeEnjoy working in a diverse team and environmentPreferred qualifications: Experience in medical device or life sciences industry.
