Solution Architect Retail/Consumer Goods
Accenture Solution Architects (SAs) are responsible for defining the technology approach and solution to address client requirements for new projects.
Through discussions with clients, technology partners and analysis of requirements, they select technology vendors and platforms; create high level technical designs; perform structured estimation; define delivery approaches and plans; and help to select the right commercial and pricing model to reflect the technical approach.
Solution Architects work closely with other members of the sales team to ensure that the solutions we propose to our clients meet the client's needs and expectations, but can also be delivered in a reliable, predictable way.
This frequently requires balancing competing priorities, using innovative commercial and technical approaches to minimise risk and to meet challenging business cases.
This means that SAs need to demonstrate creativity and diplomacy, as well as more traditional technical, project management and commercial skills.
It is an integral part of the Solution Architect's responsibility to create, manage and present the client-facing content that describes the solution.
This includes proposal material, presentations, meeting notes, workshop artefacts, due diligence content, and even commercial contract material, ensuring that what is presented and committed to our clients accurately reflects what we plan to deliver, and that the solution delivers the value expected by the client.
Solution Architects work with Accenture's global delivery teams across various internal organisations and locations, and the senior leadership of the delivery function, to ensure proper specification and deliverability of the solution.
This includes an active role in coordinating internal reviews and approvals, and management of diverse groups of internal stakeholders.
In many cases, the solution architect is also the key point of contact with technology vendors or partners with whom Accenture is collaborating on an opportunity.
This role is for a Solution Architect who will work on large Retail and Consumer Goods opportunities across Europe, with a challenging mix of technologies; innovative commercial models; and requiring deep insight into how technology can transform and unlock value for retail and CG clients.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Solution Coordination and Integration
- Managing senior internal stakeholders and functional and technical relationships for the designated solution
- Directing and coordinating with Legal & Commercial and Corporate Transaction Services (CTS) in areas specific to the solution to ensure use of standards
- Interfacing with the delivery organization/s to ensure effective transition, shape services, collaborate on clear solution assumptions, determine appropriate service delivery locations and related cost to deliver
- Build relationships with technology partners and vendors to ensure that our solutions incorporate the latest innovations, and match future technology roadmaps and trends
- Coordinate internal solution reviews and delivery approvals, and play an active role in Accenture's opportunity approval process.
**Solution Planning
- Understand and translate client requirements into a holistic solution including technical approach; estimates; delivery plan; staffing plans and sourcing approaches
- Understand the nuances of the client's business challenges to identify suitable solution and platform choices to align to client's business case
- Relate the proposed technical solution to the client's business case, and define mechanisms to maximise the delivery of value across multiple dimensions
- Interact with ecosystem players and vendors to coordinate technical architecture, and leverage suitable technology platforms and innovations
- Identify opportunities to deploy innovative technical approaches or components to increase differentiation and solution value, including the use of experiments and PoCs where needed
- Adjust the technical and delivery solution to suit the proposed commercial model, and if necessary, propose refinements to the commercial approach to reflect a pragmatic technical solution
- Identify opportunities to leverage or create reusable assets or templates to increase speed to value and reduce delivery cost
- Work with and present to key client stakeholders, representing the proposed solution
- Support creation of client facing presentations and proposals, particularly describing proposed technologies, approaches and technical rationale
- Contribute to the commercial contract, and take park in contract negotiations and legal and commercial reviews.
