Senior Business Developer The Senior Business Developer – Industrial Automation aims to identify and secure new accounts and uncover business opportunities within targeted industrial markets, including energy and sustainability, renewable energy, utilities, midstream, upstream, and specialty chemicals.
This role will be instrumental in expanding our market presence, driving sustainable growth, and delivering impactful solutions to our clients.
The Senior Business Developer reports directly to the Honeywell Process Solution Regional Sales Manager for Italy and East Mediterranean Countries. The position involves high-level interaction with various internal and external stakeholders and requires 70%+ travel within Italy and East Mediterranean Countries.
Key responsibilities: Identify, develop, and secure growth opportunities in targeted markets; build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities by leveraging industry connections and market insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop tailored value propositions. Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their challenges, and aligning them with Honeywell solutions. Analyze emerging trends to identify growth opportunities that match Honeywell's portfolio and provide strategic insights to drive innovation and competitive positioning. Establish strategic partnerships that align with Honeywell's business objectives and collaborate with internal teams to structure strategic alliances that enhance value delivery. Key skills and qualifications: Minimum 7+ years of experience in business development within industrial automation, energy, or related sectors. Deep knowledge of the energy and sustainability, renewable energy, utilities, midstream, upstream, and specialty chemicals markets. Proven track record of driving growth and closing large, complex deals in industrial automation markets. Experience in selling solutions, including software and cybersecurity. Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills in both English and Italian. Experience working in an international environment, showcasing the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders. Results-oriented with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and profitability targets and the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for diverse stakeholders.
