Advertising Design Technology is Amazon's custom development and prototyping team for advertisers and agencies.
We focus on the conception, prototyping and execution of branded custom experiences across Amazon properties.
As a Design Technologist, you will split your time between execution and strategy.
You will be contributing to the definition of new ad products, pre-sales prototypes, and custom campaign execution, all while working directly with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and Account teams.
You will have a comprehensive understanding of the current state (and future) of web technology with a critical awareness of implications on user-centered design.
You feel comfortable reading, writing, and reviewing vanilla JavaScript both on the client and server, building your own libraries and creating task automation to speed up development.
You are customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, comfortable working on highly technical teams, and skilled in using data and insights to make decisions.
You feel comfortable writing documentation and handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy.
You are equally passionate about design and development.
You have strong front-end proficiency, are a creative problem solver at the core, and have a keen eye for world-class functional design.
You will bring disruptive ideas for how to conceive, create, and deliver branded shopping experiences for millions of customers worldwide and work across desktop, mobile, Fire tablet, Fire TV, Alexa, Out of Home, and emerging devices.
Key job responsibilities Owning the end-to-end development process and deliverables from a design and technical perspective Work closely with business teams to develop campaign strategy, use cases, and technical requirements Presenting work to peers, product teams, and executive leadership Develop high-quality scalable and maintainable solutions Partnering with program and product managers to appropriately identify and assess features for future product offerings Basic Qualifications Considerable experience as a frontend engineer/developer and/or UX Engineer Experience in advanced prototyping with Figma/Sketch Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills Understanding and fluent usage across a broad spectrum of technologies including (but not limited to): Vanilla JS, Typescript, NodeJS, React, Redux, SASS/CSS, WebGL, and Responsive Web Development In-depth experience with React, React Spring, Framer Motion, and complex UI animations Understanding of performance, accessibility, and how to mitigate latency issues Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with the AWS Stack and configuration: S3, CloudFront, Lambda, Route 53, IVS, etc.
Experience using AWS in production environments Familiarity with digital marketing, advertising, and metrics across Consumer Packaged Goods market Familiarity with creative ideation and brainstorm sessions with internal and external partners Familiarity with Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Alexa, Voice Design, WebGL, and creative frontend Familiarity with using the Bash scripting/shell and SSH BS/MS in computer science, technology, design, or equivalent professional experience Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
