Amazon Japan Ops Finance team is looking for a strategic and dynamic self-starter to join us as Sr. Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance in our headquarters in Tokyo. This leader will provide or influence business decisions for future investments by simulating business cases and will be responsible for planning and actual tracking in first mile capacity planning.
Our mission is to provide faster delivery speeds to customers while offering a wider range of product selections through operation cost optimization. To achieve this goal, it is crucial to build a supply chain network with minimized touch points and transportation distances by placing necessary inventory closer to customers. The Supply Chain Sr. Financial Analyst will be given responsibility for network capacity planning of Fulfillment Centers (FCs) - the core of Amazon's supply chain network, and will provide the end-to-end analytical support to optimize our dynamic and rapidly growing network. Partnered closely with Amazon Japan Operations Supply Chain team, this position will perform a key role in the supply chain process across Japan to develop key business ideas and financial challenges. Evaluating and quantifying the complex problems and solutions, you will lead mid/long term network capacity planning, analyze financial data and operational performance, continuously seek and propose improvement opportunities, and support and lead initiatives to drive improvements on customer experience with lower cost by optimizing supply chain network.

Key job responsibilitiesPrepare capacity planning and forecasting in Amazon Fulfillment Center (FC) supply chain networkPartner with operation supply chain team, and provide case analysis to drive strategic capacity initiatives and cost optimizations in end-to-end supply chain network, better services to customers, and the company's long-term successPerform data-driven analysis, develop financial frameworks, and create meaningful reports to drive network optimization and cost reductionsProven ability to manage competing priorities & provide level-headed guidanceCommunicate financial performance to business and finance partnersBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- BA/BS degree
- 3+ years of related experience
- Business level in both Japanese and English language skill (reading, writing, speaking)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information in an effective way
- Proven ability to solve complex problems using data and metrics.
- Proven ability to develop strategic relationships with business partners.
- Superb attention to details and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of or prior experience in the logistics and supply chain business
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Advanced skills in MS Word/Excel, Oracle SQL, Python, COGNOS, Access, and/or Essbase
