Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, economics, engineering or related field. Experience in program or operations management. History of managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously. Superior analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success. Proven ability to identify, analyse, and solve ambiguous problems with an extreme attention to detail. A track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The DSP team is building a world class last mile operation capable of exceeding the expectations of our customers. We ensure that customer orders, no matter how large or small, are delivered as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible by a network of entrepreneurial owned and operated small businesses, our Delivery Service Partners (DSP). To enable the program to scale in a sustainable way, Amazon is seeking an exceptional Sr. Launch & Expansion Manager who will be part of a start-up group with the charter to grow and scale the DSP program across multiple Modes of Transport (MoTs) by delivering cutting-edge expansion paths and capabilities for current and future last mile transportation initiatives. Essentially the team's vision is to launch last mile delivery operating models that make Amazon the pioneers in the global logistics industry.
This Sr. Launch & Expansion Manager will be directly responsible to help Amazon to delivering launch and expansion plans for new last mile transportation initiatives which focus on attracting delivery partners. The focus of this role will be to build an effective launch and risk mitigation plan that enables DSPs to expand Amazon's last mile operations globally to meet customer needs. This is a fast-growing space with loads of complexity due to the unique challenges and services required to enable deliveries. This individual will take over the DSP Product baton from our WW partner team who designs the initial offering and will own the end-to-end programme launch life-cycle, from research to product localization through the operation deployment on road; specifically they will design comprehensive launch plans and mechanisms, drive risks assessments and remediation and coordinate all launch work-streams which span across multiple functions and countries, as well as identify opportunities to continually enhance the program for Amazon customers and the entrepreneurs that own and operate small delivery businesses.
Please note, this role may require travel across the EU and WW.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage several competing priorities ensuring critical projects remain visible to all stakeholders whilst maintaining a plan for less urgent matters
- Dive deep into various work streams and not be afraid to learn about each stakeholders contribution, challenges
- Write and review business cases using information acquired from various stakeholders
- Prioritize work-streams that have the biggest impact on timelines and report status in a timely manner
- Possesses a strong management technical approach but at the same time be able to 'roll up their sleeves' and jump in to solve bottlenecks where needed
- Be comfortable in different projects and roles, sometimes supporting, sometimes leading and escalating any blockers to achieving project growth
- Maintain the overall project plan that enables the teams to be successful based upon the project milestones and Go-Live
- Obtain stakeholder feedback, compile white papers and run monthly business review processes to update all stakeholders
- Doc writing at high-bar to drive decisions

MBA and/or advanced degree in mathematics, economics, or a technical discipline. Experience in product, programs or operations management within the logistics industry. Additional EU languages: French, German, Italian or Spanish.
