We are looking for a **Senior Sustainability Manager **to join our Sustainable Development team within Arup Italia.
You will join a team that has established a reputation for supporting both Italy and international projects.
Providing advisory and design services to clients to deliver on their sustainability objectives and our own commitments to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
**Role**:
Support the Sustainable development leader in developing business relationships with existing and new clients, prepare proposal and win new projects.
Coordinate projects and team resources across building and city scale projects, reporting directly to the Sustainability leader.
Development of strategies to achieve Net Zero Carbon and resilient buildings and urban regeneration projects.
Development of long-lasting sustainable solutions in collaboration with other departments (e. g.
Integrated City planning, Architecture, Energy, Building Envelope, MEP, etc.
).
Responsible of day-to-day delivery of sustainability consulting projects, including bespoke sustainability assessments, strategies, ESG methodologies/framework and projects associated with developing client's aspirations, with support from the team and Italy group leadership.
Management of projects and team (Jr Sustainable consultants) in autonomy
Communicate sustainability requirements to internal and external team members, including workshop facilitation.
Produce reports providing advice and guidance to clients and project teams.
You will have knowledge, or first-hand experience, in most or all of the following areas: sustainable development agendas and future trends across the broad spectrum of environmental, social and governance issues, sustainability reporting and reporting standards, sustainability strategy and appraisal and environmental legislation within the design, construction and city context.
**Requirements**:
- Master's degree in engineering or architecture or other relevant fields of study
- Confirmed experience in Sustainability field and ability to work on your own initiative
- Team Management experience (team size 3/5 collaborators)
- Ability to move across businesses and scales with a creative mindset and truly passionate about creating a meaningful sustainable impact on projects and organisations.
You will have knowledge, or first-hand experience, in the following areas:
- Understanding of low/net zero carbon strategies for buildings and masterplans
- Resilience, climate adaptation and mitigation and climate risk assessment
- Experience on building sustainability certification appraisals, carbon footprints and net zero carbon transition, building energy audits, carbon management services, circularity and related services
- Organisational and Programme and Project Management skills
- Presentation skills (oral and written)
- Fluent in both English and Italian language.
**Preferred**:
- LEED AP and/or other green building / masterplan accreditation (WELL, Fitwel, BREEAM, etc. )
is a plus
- Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP)
- Knowledge of European and international sustainability policies.
