What are we looking for? We are seeking a Staff Big Data Engineer who is passionate about big data, data engineering, and AI. We need someone who can contribute to the development and implementation of robust data solutions and enhance our data capabilities for cybersecurity research. As our ideal new colleague, you should have a strong background in (big) data engineering, building distributed systems over a cloud environment, and be comfortable working with large-scale datasets for research purposes (our cybersecurity platform ingests 5-10 Petabytes of data daily).

What will you do? Design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure required for effective research for developing cyber threat detections in our products (including new AI-powered detections or detections in cloud environments). Collaborate closely with cross-functional production teams across the entire company, including data scientists, cybersecurity researchers, product managers, and more. Deliver innovative data solutions that will assist us in developing the best threat detection solution and protecting our customers. What experience and knowledge you should bring? 4+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, and distributed systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, or similar. Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Experience with deploying big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, IceBerg, or Trino. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Grafana, or similar. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Excellent communication skills to clearly present and explain complex data and models to technical and non-technical stakeholders. BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Additional or directly relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in leading cross-functional projects between R&D and product teams. A huge plus would be Experience in and passion for cybersecurity.
