Job Description
Your focus will be the implementation and verification of ROM-based embedded software in the automotive context, with a special target on process compliance for new quality standards, for a new platform of microcontroller-based products integrated in most cars across the globe.
You will actively support product development from feasibility study till product ramp-up.
The Firmware (FW) Development area will require you to explore state-of-the-art software development and verification methodologies interacting with Product Definition Engineers, Hardware (HW) Engineers, Concept Engineers, FW Development and FW Verification Team, and Quality Engineers.
In your new role you will:
Be responsible for FW Development and Testing in a context of System development based on a common ARM based CPU Sub-system platform. Cooperate with colleagues focused on FW Architecture Definition and development to define reusable and optimized (size, performance) solutions. Document, describe and defend FW solutions adopted in a HW experts' context. Define strategy and explore methodologies to improve automation and reduce effort in FW Architecture. Follow Infineon FW process and identify opportunities to be more efficient during daily activities. Perform requirements, code and verification strategy reviews inside FW team. Support silicon bring up and FW validation on application hardware and support application team when needed. Contribute to the definition of the Infineon FW methodology including ASPICE, ISO26262, ISO21434 compliant development process. Network with other IFX firmware and Software experts as well as System Concept Engineers. Represent Firmware in the different Community of Practice inside Infineon. Your Profile

Experience in the semiconductor and automotive industries is highly valued.
You are best equipped for this work if you have:
A Master or PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent field of studies. At least 3 or more years of experience in Firmware or Embedded Software Development – experience in Automotive is a plus. Knowledge of C Programming language, object oriented languages (python) to help find new solutions or feed ideas. Good assembly knowledge (ARM assembly is better), and ARM tool chain knowledge would be nice to have. Knowledge in software development practices: Collaborative and Agile (SCRUM). Understanding of Firmware Development areas like Boot mode or Bootstrap loader. Experience in embedded software development on ARM-based microcontroller and related toolchain (assembler, compiler, linker). Knowledge of Automotive Functional Safety (ISO 26262), ASPICE, AUTOSAR and other standards would be a plus. Good understanding of Modeling tools (Enterprise Architect would be a plus), VCS tools: Git, SVN, Eclipse and Testing tools.
