Startup Acceleration Intern
Company descriptionBocconi for innovation (B4i) is Bocconi University's entrepreneurial hub, supporting early-stage founders with acceleration and pre-acceleration programs, while fostering an entrepreneurial culture through community activities for students, investors, alumni and relevant players. Our mission is to drive innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting founders – mostly students and alumni from any university – through world-class programs and funding.
We empower the next generation of entrepreneurs to build impactful companies, leveraging the extensive network, skills and knowledge of the Bocconi community. In its Acceleration program, B4i invests in and supports pre-seed and seed start-ups through a 4-month full-time program to move from early validation on their MVPs to product-market fit.
The program runs two batches per year in March and September, and covers three business areas: product market, marketing sales and fundraising. Internship opportunityThe intern will work closely with the Head of Acceleration and the Acceleration team to support them in each activity of the program, by participating in its different stages, from the program design to the scouting and selection of the most promising start-ups till the actual execution of the 4-month support.
Throughout the 6 months the intern is also expected to support start-ups in various activities requested by the program, ranging from customer discovery competitor analysis, market validation, business development, financial planning and fundraising activities. In particular, the intern will:Create and manage program-related materials, including slides, presentations, spreadsheets and Notion pages, to support the Head of Acceleration in everyday task. Conduct in-depth reviews of pitch decks, executive summaries, financial models, startup assessments and other key documents for startups in the program. Actively scout and analyze promising startups for our programs, leveraging proprietary databases (e. g.
Sifted, Dealroom) for early stage assessments. Assist in coordinating experts, speakers, and other participants involved in the program, including content definition, communication and setup. Facilitate effective connections between startups and our pool of mentors to maximize collaboration and support. Contribute to matching individuals in our CRM database with startups, enhancing business development efforts. Support the team in maintaining and updating our CRM to map key stakeholders, startups, invitations and other essential data. Help ensure our startups are represented on platforms and databases such as Dealroom, PitchBook and Sifted, improving their exposure to investors and partners. RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree (the following fields are considered as a plus: Engineering, Design, Economics, Management and Innovation). Proficiency in English and Italian (both spoken and written). Coding / Data analytics Visualization skills are considered an important plus, but not mandatory. Strong interest in entrepreneurship, start-ups and innovation.
Previous experience with startups, VCs, accelerators and open innovation is considered as a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive, able to listen and open to feedback, but not afraid to speak up. Comfortable in a fast-paced, horizontal environment and ready to deal with unpredictability. Organized and superbly structured, detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
