Strategic Buyer Mro, Indirect Material
Job Summary**:
For our Manufacturing site in Montecchio Maggiore (VI) with over 700 employee we are seeking an Strategic Buyer Indirect Material for MRO category.
Must have experience with everything related to the needs of technical and consumable materials to support the implementation of production systems and plant maintenance.
This includes the management of investment in the purchase of production machinery, equipment serving production, scientific laboratory instruments.
Contractual management of contractors working on construction sites within the site, with compliance with current regulations and Dlgs 81/08.
Support and deliver sourcing strategy, as delegated by Xylem Global Procurement (XGP) and according to Applied Water System division strategy.
Ensure compliance with Xylem processes, PSP including DOA and Xylem Product Development (XPD) with stage/gate process.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities**:
- Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with Xylem policies, needs, costs, quality and delivery targets.
Improve site supply base and supplier's service level, reducing lead time and improving on time and quality performance, participation to the monthly review on Quality and OTD performance.
Ensure improvements on transactional processes and operations.
- Support EH3S, facilities maintenance and manufacturing engineering for contractors, making sure they comply with security and labor law requirements.
- Responsible for managing and updating price lists in the system, issuing, monitoring and expediting of orders and invoices.
- Work collaboratively with other Site Procurement structures, Xylem Global Procurement and GBS, regarding definition and implementation of procurement strategy to achieve global, regional and local benefits through alignment and leverage of purchasing power.
Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
- Deliver site sourcing projects on time and to target savings; provide accurate and timely visibility of ongoing project progress; participate in site project review.
- Foster culture of continuous improvement through regular analysis of spend and idea generation activities to promote innovative disruptive thinking.
- Ensure spend and sourcing projects are associated to budgets and where appropriate savings can be tracked to P&L, with Finance sign-off.
- Communicate with internal customers and key business partners to identify needs, support product/service change requests and cooperate in company business needs realization.
- Actively search for suppliers, products, processes and tools to secure cost effectiveness, quality and service according to expectations.
- Monitor market material trends and suppliers.
Explore alternative sources for goods and materials.
Undertake research on and evaluate existing and new suppliers in order to reduce costs where possible.
Perform tenders and issue request for quotations/proposals (RFQ/RFP) to potential suppliers.
Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.
- Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing procurement and negotiation best practice tools and methods (SCA, Supplier assessments, etc. ).
Build, maintain and manage supplier relationship.
Ensure good communication, professional and consistent approach in relation to supplier.
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures.
Knowledge and utilization of the PSP (Premier Sourcing Process) and Site certification requirements (ISO 9001 etc. ).
Aims for automatization of tasks and activities.
- Deliver briefs, reports and updates when required.
**Required Qualifications**:
Minimal education & experience, essential skills & abilities and required license/certification to perform this job.
- High School Diploma: technical diploma or equivalent or, degree in technical field preferred
- Good knowledge of English and Italian
- Professional Buyer ADACI certification (level 2-progressed) comparable to the British level 3 CPS can be a plus
- 2-5 years of experience in MRO indirect materials and services purchases area.
- Creates preferential title a knowledge and 'experience related to Lean Production.
