**Job Purpose**:
- The position holder will be part of the corporate office within the Rare Diseases business unit.
- Role is pivotal and instrumental in supporting portfolio expansion and moving global/regional commercial initiatives forward.
**Mission**:
- Contribute to the expansion / optimization of the Rare Diseases portfolio through commercial evaluation of new product / asset opportunities.
- Analyze the existing Rare Disease portfolio, in order to identify growth opportunities across business areas and geographies (including life cycle management).
- Provide competitive intelligence for both existing and potential future product assets.
- In-depth analysis and assessment of new growth opportunities in the Rare Diseases space; such opportunities will vary from early stage licensing to acquisition of marketed product/company assets, with a global or multi-region geographical scope.
In such assessment exercise he/she will collaborate with local teams to develop business cases including product forecast scenarios and pricing strategies, supported by appropriate market research.
Will also work with the relevant corporate departments (eg: licensing, corporate development, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, marketing, sales, finance, etc. . . ) coordinating activities of diligence team members; presentation of the opportunities to the Rare Diseases Management.
**Major Responsibilities
Support the Portfolio Management Rare Diseases Team in the following activities:
- Assessment and periodic review of the long term strategy and outlook for the rare diseases Business in terms of therapeutic area, geography and technology.
- Competitive intelligence for key products and therapeutic areas.
In depth evaluation of competitive scenarios with regular report to Rare Diseases Management.
**Requirement**:
The ideal profile should have:
- Scientific degree, a plus it would be a post-graduate master's in economics/management
- Fluent in English
- pharmaceutical sector previous work experience (rare diseases sector is not a must) or specialized pharma consultancy.
Experience in the areas of oncology and/or endocrinology is a plus
- At least 5 years of overall experience in strategic marketing, new product evaluation (strategic analysis/competitive intelligence) and business case preparation or business development roles in start-ups or technology transfer offices

- Strong communication skills also in presentation at global meeting and top management
- Analytical mindset joined to a strong business acumen.
- Highly collaborative, must be able to liaise with multiple internal stakeholders
- Ability to navigate different market data/ competitive intelligence tools and sources to understand market dynamic in a specific therapeutic area, create a target product profile and run in autonomy primary market interviews with scientific experts
- Ability to create synthetic product assessment based on technical and commercial risk consideration.
- Knowledge of drug development with experience in critically reviewing and interpreting literature, study data, clinical-regulatory guidelines and market access implications
