About Atlantis Atlantis is an education abroad organization that provides innovative programs designed for pre-med, pre-PA, and pre-health students.
Atlantis offers international clinical shadowing opportunities, connecting students from colleges and universities across the United States with healthcare professionals in Europe and Africa.
These programs foster cross-cultural exchange, broaden academic perspectives, and equip students to pursue their medical aspirations with passion and purpose.
Position Summary The Student Coordinator position is part of the Atlantis team and allows you to have the unique opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Atlantis's mission while also working within the broader CEA CAPA community.
The Student Coordinator is the driving force behind our programs, ensuring seamless in-country implementation of program activities and exceptional student experience.
Responsibilities Complete required online and in-person training in Alicante, Spain (Online dates: 14th - 17th April, In person dates: 21st - 30th April) Collaborate with the Senior Operations Team to review program details and logistics.
Coordinate with hospital, housing, meal, and excursion providers to organize & finalize arrangements of your programs.
Participate in preparation calls and ensure all necessary communications are sent to students and partners.
Prepare and distribute welcome materials to students.
Lead in-country orientation for students and ensure smooth logistical operations, including organizing transportation, excursions, meals, hospital shadowing rotations, and accommodations.
Oversee program budgets and manage on-site funds, payments, and receipts.
Accompany the group to all planned activities and serve in a 24/7 on-call capacity, managing emergency protocols if necessary.
Engage with students to enhance their shadowing experience and share insights on local healthcare and cultural contexts.
Provide daily updates to the Senior Operations Team and maintain clear communication with students, hospitals, and partners.
Document program activities through photos and videos to share with the Senior Operations Team.
Complete offboarding tasks, including expense reporting and financial reconciliation.
Collect and submit feedback forms based on program experience and your interactions at Atlantis.
Ensure all records, including key contacts and program details, are updated in the database.
Qualifications Attained a Bachelor's degree or higher.
Proficiency in English and Italian with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to manage and coordinate groups, particularly in international settings.
Experience working with college students and faculty, ideally in education abroad or related environments.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal and community development skills, with the ability to build relationships across cultures.
Demonstrated ability to handle crisis management situations with poise, professionalism, and effective problem-solving.
Ability to represent Atlantis with enthusiasm, integrity, and professionalism.
Possesses strong judgment, with excellent negotiation and decision-making skills.
Collaborative team player who is visible, accessible, and supportive of students throughout the program.
Flexibility to travel/temporarily relocate at late notice should it be required.
Required Working Availability: This is a full-time position, as standard is Monday to Friday.
However, we will require candidates to have flexibility in working hours and days, and some weekend work will be required.
Contract Terms: Programs run from May to August 2025.
The City Manager will also take part in a 4-day online and a 10-day Project Planning Course that will take place in mid-April in Alicante, Spain.
The position is a contractor position.
