The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of subsea pumps and their technical specifications, as well as the ability to analyze and interpret complex technical documents.
The subsea mechanical engineer will manage the technical interface with suppliers and internal disciplines and provide technical support to customers and third parties.
The engineer will work on all stages from development to design, integration, installation, and final commissioning of subsea mechanical systems and solutions, also supporting existing product offerings. Responsibilities:Thorough analysis of all documentation and requirements to contribute effectively to the definition of system architectures and component estimation for the areas of expertise. Participate in mechanical solutions engineering and design. Preparation of technical documents, including specifications and data sheets related to subsea pumps and other subsea mechanical solutions. Analysis of proposal and design documentation issued by suppliers and partners, addressing:Technical aspects of rotating equipment, i. e.
hydraulics, rotodynamic, structural mechanics, and related ancillaries and qualification procedures. Manufacturing and test procedures, including Inspection and Test Plans, NDT/NDE procedures, and system test procedures. Pump system interfaces with the other disciplines involved in the pump module definition, i. e.
process, control system, structural and piping, electrical. Follow up during Subsea Pump module construction and delivery, acting as the technical interface between customers and internal teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Witnessing of manufacturing and testing stages. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience working with big pumps and equipment, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of:Subsea pump mechanical environments criticalities. Rotodynamic principles. Single and Multistage Pumps and pumping systems. Standard and hydrodynamic bearings. Casing design, hydraulic connections and relevant sealings. Pump / motor coupling systems. Pumps and motor international standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software (e. g.
Ansys or equivalent) is a plus. Experience in project management including developing project plans, tracking progress and expediting action items. Advanced English; Portuguese is a plus.
