Supervisory Information Technology Specialist
Duties**:
- Serve as the overall focal point for management, oversight and control of all near-term, long-term and overall strategic level planning of the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, and the enterprise data and voice architectures.
- Serve as the organization? s technical expert, and advisor concerning command-wide implementation, modification, and management of implementation of new communications technologies.
- Distribute new regulatory requirements to installation tenants and assists in the development and compliance of local directives, policies, and procedures relative to respective services.
- Interact with senior executives responsible for a variety of command programs for the purpose of exposing, explaining, defending and promoting command IT programs.
- Coordinate efforts toward standardization of information systems support, including hardware and software standardization at the end
- user level in accordance with (IAW) established theater Enterprise standards.
- Review Installation Management Command (IMCOM) initiatives to ensure that proposed actions are in compliance with previously approved Information Management Plans and are technically sound.
- Serve as manager for the collection, categorization, and maintenance of information on communication systems and networks that traverse the regional networks.
- Provide integrated/web-based capabilities for awareness, access, delivery, and management of information across the full spectrum of operations.
- Evaluate the adequacy of command organizational structure and staffing, recommending or effecting changes and reorganizations to the Battalion Commander/Civilian Deputy, as required.
- Overall responsibility as Local Network Enterprise Center (LNEC) Director for assuring the information security and availability of all official business networks and systems.
- Supervise, direct, oversee, and coordinate the work of a staff of US, local nationals, and military employees performing a variety of duties in providing IT support to the community and supported units.

- You will be required to provide proof of U. S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315. 19.
- This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) or access for the duration of employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Army Europe (USAREUR) Driver's license within 60 days of employment
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570. 01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty.
- This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed Unscheduled Telework.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required.
A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. -

**Specialized and Other Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes recommending solutions to Information Technology operational problems; leading an Information Technology team OR delegating work to peers or subordinates; interpreting and adapting information technology guidelines; and coordinating changes to plans and programs necessitated by technological upgrades.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
