Supervisory Interdisciplinary Engineer/Architect
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the Expeditionary Directorate within Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Europe Africa Central (EURAFCENT) at U. S. Naval Support Activity Naples in Capodichino, Italy. This position has a Selective Placement Factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect (RA) in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your current license or registration with your application package.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Leading, Project Management and Team BuildingSupervising/Training and mentoring experienceSupporting staffing actions and managing human resourcesWorking with the team to creatively solve design and construction challenges and deliver products and services for building construction in contingency/remote environments. Applicants for the Professional Engineering (0801) series must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
